Evalve out of Menlo Park, California has enrolled the first patients in a study called REALISM, Real World ExpAnded MuLtIcenter Study of the MitraClip® System, that will assess the effectiveness of the company's MitraClip™ percutaneous device, thought to be a possible treatment for mitral regurgitation. The study will be comparing MitraClip™ to mitral valve surgery.
